Dušan Tadić, Steven Davis and Maya Yoshida spoke to the media following Southampton’s 1-0 defeat to Swansea City at St Mary’s.
Here’s what the trio had to say after the game:
Maya Yoshida on a tough defeat to take…
“It’s difficult to accept the game because they just got tiny chances, we created many, many chances and we just couldn’t score, but it sometimes happens in football.
“It’s very difficult to accept but we still have 15 games left. We now just go to the next game against QPR. It sometimes happen that we cannot score, defensively we have to be patient.
“This level, small details can make a big difference, like [Jonjo] Shelvey’s goal, so that’s football, that’s life. Football goes on and life goes on, so we just focus on the next game.”
Dušan Tadić felt Saints’ performance deserved more for their display…
“It was really strange because this was one of our best games. I think how we play, how we dominated the game, it was really strange. I was sure we were going to take three points.
“In the end I think we deserved much more, but I think this is a good way of playing and results are going to come. I think we have some chances and we should score a goal first half.
“The way of our playing was really good and we just need to keep doing this. Yes, we are disappointed, we have lost points, but we are not disappointed with how we play.
“We just need to keep going like this and if we play like this, we’re going to have more luck in the next game.”
Steven Davis on the mood in the camp after the game…
“Everybody’s bitterly disappointed in the dressing room, there’s no hiding from that, but obviously we try to do things the right way and it wasn’t as if we’re coming away with the manner of defeat being poor.
“There’s positives to take, but also look at where we’ve gone wrong and things we can improve on and tidy it up for next week.
“I thought overall we defended well as well but obviously it was a great strike to win the game and we just couldn’t seem to take our chances.
“You've seen with the way we played and we’re obviously enjoying our football, but just couldn’t get that goal to get us in the lead when we were on top and it came back to bite us.”
