It was another good weekend for Saints duo Jack Stephens and Jordan Turnbull as they helped Swindon Town win again.
The Saints pair both played the full game against Fleetwood Town and helped keep a clean sheet, as Ben Gladwin sealed a 1-0 win for the Robins.Speaking to reporters after the game, Stephens said: "I’m more natural I think as a defender, it’s where I’ve played most of my games. I really enjoyed it in midfield and it’s something I really enjoy. I’m not too fussed where I play to be honest.
"[Sweeper is] very much like a midfield role really you get an awful lot of the ball and you’re seen as the main attack starter. I enjoy it there, it’s good to get on the ball and start attacks."
Goalkeeper Artur Boruc was involved in a 2-2 draw for the third game in a row as Bournemouth were held at home to Millwall in the Championship.It has been a mixed week for striker Dani Osvaldo with Inter Milan. The striker scored the winning goal in their 2-1 win against Dnipro in the Europa League on Thursday.
He scored another goal this weekend, but Roberto Mancini’s side were beaten 4-2 by AS Roma away from home. Osvaldo levelled the game at 2-2, but the hosts scored two further goals to seal the win.
Will Britt missed out through injury for Maidenhead United as they beat Metropolitan Police 2-1 on Saturday. The youngster will hope to return against Ebbsfleet United this weekend.
Another to miss out was Gastón Ramírez who was suspended for Hull City’s game against Manchester United at Old Trafford following the red card he picked up against Tottenham Hotspur last week. In his absence, the Tigers were beaten 3-0 by Louis van Gaal’s side.
Jos Hooiveld was an unused substitute for Championship side Norwich City as they were beaten at home against Reading. Two headers Jake Cooper cancelled out Gary Hooper’s goal and sealed a 2-1 win for the visitors.
Jake Sinclair was also an unused substitute for Hibernian, as they beat Alloa Athletic 2-1 in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
