Skydive for Saints!

By SFC Media time Wed 25 Jun Club

Have you ever wanted to leap from a plane?! Well, now’s your chance to achieve that ambition with the Saints Foundation.

Scheduled for Sunday 21st September 2014, the Saints Foundation has organised a charity skydive at Old Sarum Airfield Salisbury, with all funds raised donated to the Liver and Pancreas R&D Cancer Charity.

Fundraisers will experience the sheer exhilaration of free-falling from 10,000ft and then float above stunning countryside in tandem with an experienced skydiving instructor. Signing up to the personal challenge will support the Foundation’s targets of supporting the Southampton-based medical charity that has a global impact on liver and pancreas cancer treatment.

There are 20 places available for the day and Saints' Club Captain, Kelvin Davis, is fully behind the fundraising event: “I’m passionate about supporting such a worthwhile charity and the skydiving event is an excellent opportunity to fulfil a lifetime ambition whilst raising funds for such a great cause. I would encourage any Saints fans who have ever thought about doing a skydive to take this opportunity and make a real difference.”

The Liver and Pancreas R&D Charity aims is to reduce the human and financial costs of these cancers by increasing early detection rates, developing laparoscopic procedures and funding mini invasive surgery.

Liver and Pancreatic Cancers remain two of the worst cancers in terms of prognosis and survival rates but there is still a scarcity of funds dedicated to research to improve early detection, surgical treatment and adjuvant chemotherapy to improve results and survival.

If you would like to take part in the Saints Skydive or would like further information on the event, then please contact Becky Davies by email at [email protected] or by calling 0845 6889370.
