James Ward-Prowse and Gaston Ramirez continue to represent their nations over the next couple of days.

Both men will be in action with something to play for, as the Under 20s World Cup and the Confederations Cup reach crucial stages.

Ward-Prowse and England need a win to guarantee progression into the knockout phase of the World Cup in Turkey, though a draw might be enough to clinch a place in the Last 16.

On Wednesday evening, Ward-Prowse played the full 90 minutes for England Under-20s in a 1-1 draw with Chile in Antalya. It was the second stalemate for the Young Lions as their stuttering start to the tournament continued.

England were, however unfortunate to be behind to a controversially awarded first half penalty before Tottenham striker, Harry Kane levelled up for Peter Taylor’s side midway through the second period.

The youngsters play Egypt in their final group game on Saturday evening.

Ramirez and Uruguay will play Italy on Sunday evening in the third/fourth place play-off at the Confederations Cup, in a match which will precede the Final which will be contested by Brazil and Spain.

Saints’ remaining representative at the Confederations Cup was an unused substitute as Uruguay were defeated 2-1 by Brazil in the semi-finals of the competition on Wednesday evening.

One man’s international adventure for the summer however, is already over. Saints U21 goalkeeper, Cody Cropper will be heading home early following the USA Under-20s’ 4-1 defeat to Ghana on Thursday night.

After losing their opening game 4-1 to Spain, Cropper’s side drew 1-1 with France on Monday to keep slim hopes of qualification alive, but another heavy defeat, saw the Americans eliminated.
