By SFC Media time Thu 31 Jan Club

Ben Reeves has joined npower League 2 outfit Southend United on a month-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old makes his deadline-day switch to Essex having made six appearances for Saints' First Team this season.

He has also captained our Under-21 side this season, starting 12 times and scoring four goals – two of which came in last weekend's Barclays U21 Premier League draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Reeves joins the Shrimpers with them sitting seventh in the table and hunting for promotion to League 1.

The utility man had a previous loan spell in League 2 last season, making five appearances during a month-long spell with Dagenham & Redbridge.
