Riyad Mahrez (78’) | 1 – 4
Lethal from Foden
As with Sterling's opener, City find the net again moments after a big Southampton chance. This time, substitute Foden collects Salisu's headed clearance before rifling an unstoppable drive into the corner of the net.
Phil Foden (76’) | 1 – 3

Looking lively 👊
Southampton have made a great start to the second half, carrying the momentum of their equaliser just before the break.
De Bruyne shoots over
Collecting Sterling's pass, De Bruyne goes for goal from range but his effort flies over the crossbar.
Armstrong released in behind again
Ward-Prowse intercepts De Bruyne's pass and instantly flights a ball over the top for Adam Armstrong to race onto, and after cutting inside of Walker, the striker's deflected strike wins a corner.
Saints stand firm
A moment of panic for the hosts as Cancelo's outside of the boot delivery causes a scramble in the box, but Stephens is perfectly placed to block De Bruyne's effort and Salisu eventually clears the danger.
The high press almost pays off
Saints win back possession when Steffen is rushed into his clearance, eventually ending with Adam Armstrong trying his luck from 20 yards, with the striker's low drive finishing up wide of the target.
The second half begins!
We're back up and running at St Mary's with the tie still firmly in the balance.
HALF TIME: Southampton 1-1 Man City
And breathe! Saints deserve to be level at the halfway stage and they are. The hosts responded well to Raheem Sterling's opener after 12 minutes and produced a string of chances, before Laporte's own goal restored parity. With 45 minutes left to go, it's still all to play for.

This is a good end to the half from the hosts. Livramento's cross into the box from the right finds Long, but the striker is only able to direct his header comfortably wide of the target.
Romeu tests Steffen
Prowsey's corner is only cleared as far as Romeu at the back post, but his venomous low drive is straight at Steffen who collapses on the ball to thwart the danger.
Saints turn up the heat
It's a good spell for Saints, as Livramento's whipped cross only narrowly evades Long and Elyounouussi in the middle, before Walker-Peters has his shot deflected out for a corner.
City stand firm
Rodri gets his head to Ward-Prowse's free-kick delivery, with the visitors then breaking away and winning a corner.
Chance for a Ward-Prowse delivery
A jinking run from Stuart Armstrong is ended by a foul from Cancelo, giving Ward-Prowse an opportunity to swing in a dangerous delivery from wide on the right.
Rodri goes close
City catch Saints on the break and the ball falls nicely for Rodri to hit from distance, but his low drive takes a deflection on its way through and flashes just wide of Forster's far post.
Sali is back on his feet
The Ghanaian is fine to continue, as he returns to the field.
Salisu needs some treatment 🤕
The defender towers over Grealish to win a header but falls awkwardly to the floor, with Mike Dean stopping play to allow for treatment.

Jesus fires over
City are continuing to threaten, as Jesus makes a yard of space on the edge of the box before blazing over the crossbar.
City take the lead
Moments after Saints hit the post at the other end, the visitors take the lead. Stephens fails to clear his lines properly and Sterling is on hand to fire the ball past Forster from close range.
Raheem Sterling (11’) | 0 – 1
OFF THE POST! 😱
So close to the opener! Oriol Romeu spots the run of Adam Armstrong and plays the striker in, but his first-time strike comes back off the post and is hacked clear!
Sterling blasts wide
That's a let off for the hosts. Gündogan drives at the Saints back four before sliding the ball through for Sterling, but his shot from a tight angle is miscued well wide.
A simple save for Forster
Raheem Sterling attempts to curl a strike beyond Fraser Forster from 20 yards, but it's a routine save for the Saints stopper.
