The Sheffield defensive pairing made a mess off the clearance, allowing Adams to find his strike partner. Ings tried to force the ball beneath the onrushing goalkeeper, but he did well to save.

Yet another Saints set-piece on the way. A third would surely finish the job! Vestergaard is the intended target again, but he's well marshalled by Jagielka. Slightly misses the target with the header.

Saints taking risks in defence and it's paying off, building attack from back to front. It presents a chance for Walcott to cross, before Adams shoots over. Very attractive football.

He motored forward from his own half, lovely acceleration, but there's covering defenders. Baldock made the clearance in the end. Great endeavour from the Saints man. Ward-Prowse attempts to shoot in the next phase but it's easily collected by Ramsdale.

It was sloppy defending from the visitors, but Adams won't care as he fires Saints ahead!

The fans roar! Saints are on the march once more. A beautiful free-kick is lofted into the box from Ward-Prowse and isn't cleared by Jagielka. Adams is the beneficiary, who beats any defender to the ball and poked past Ramsdale.

The hosts are dominating in all areas, but Sheffield have won a corner which is easily cleared. Walcott tries to counter, but Stevens handles the ball deliberately and stops the chance.

Wonderful football

Saints look right in the mood today. Ings with yet another chance, tries to cut inside and bend one but miscued the shot. It results in another corner from Ward-Prowse, but Ramsdale clears the near post.

Ings has been closest to a breakthrough so far. There's a stop in play as McBurnie is receiving treatment.

This guy's season is going from strength to strength. He steps further up the pitch, deceives Ampadu and feeds Ings. The striker takes the ball in his stride and wins a corner. Vestergaard met the corner with his head but can't direct the header.

Front two combine

It's a lovely turn from Adams, who uses his strength to hold off the defender. Ings makes the run in behind and tries to slot it under Ramsdale. The Sheffield keeper saves, and the flag goes up latterly, but positive signs!

Adams tries his luck twice, it's twice blocked. The ball falls to Romeu, who tees himself up for the shot but it flies wide. The touch wasn't perfect, allowing the ball to run away from him slightly.

Walcott drifted inside from the wing, he's caught marginally offside as he latched onto a wonderful Vestergaard pass. The fans serenade Walcott all the same, singing 'Theo, Theo, Theo'. 🎵

Good movement from Theo

Walcott makes the forward run, attempting to latch onto a Ward-Prowse lofted pass. Ramsdale was quick off his line to clear the danger. Saints looking for the balls over the top early in this game.

Corner routine well worked

Straight from the training ground, Ward-Prowse tries a different set-piece to what we've seen in recent weeks. He fires it low across the box to Armstrong, who fluffed the shot. Something new!
