Danny Ings squares for the on-rushing Boufal, who lashes a left-footed shot into the top corner!
GOOOAL!!!
Sofiane Boufal (86’) | 1 – 1
Ings heads wide
A great chance for an equaliser, as Nathan Redmond stands up a ball to Danny Ings just outside the six-yard box, but he heads wide.
Penalty shout for Saints
Moussa Djenepo gets down the left and finds Danny Ings in the middle. He controls and flicks it past Japhet Tanganga, whose arm flicked out and hit the ball, but no penalty is awarded.
Ings shoots wide
Saints creating a bit more now. Danny Ings works some room 25 yards out and sends in a low, curling shot, but it's a yard or two wide.
Ings can't convert Redmond cross
Nathan Redmond fires in a low ball from the right, but it comes to Danny Ings too quickly and he can only turn it wide.
Son close to a second
Erik Lamela chips a lovely pass in behind for Son, down the inside-left, but his first-time, side-footed volley flies over.
VAR Decision: Goal awarded for Tottenham Hotspur [Heung-Min Son] was confirmed
There's a VAR check for offside, but Son is on, and the goal is given. Saints also claimed for a foul on Kevin Danso, as Dele Alli bundled him over as the pass was played to Son, but the check says no foul. Saints behind.
Son fires Spurs ahead
Spurs break and work the ball to Son in space on the left. He doesn't miss this time, firing a low shot across goal and inside the far post.
GOAL
Heung-Min Son (57’) | 0 – 1

So, so close for Ings!
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg slides a pass down the inside-right for Michael Obafemi, who square from near the byline for Danny Ings, but his flick across goal shaves the post and goes wide.
Ings takes a clattering from Lloris
Kevin Danso whips in a cross that Danny Ings challenges for, but he ends up taking a bit of a hit from Hugo Lloris as he came out to punch. The Saints striker is ok, though!
Gunn saves from Moura
Saints escape, as Lucas Moura fires the free-kick straight to Angus Gunn, who holds on.
Danso gives away a free-kick in a dangerous spot
A chance here for Spurs, as Kevin Danso brings down Giovani Lo Celso right on the edge of the area, to the left of centre...
SECOND HALF IS UNDER WAY
Tottenham take the kick-off, as we enter the second 45 minutes. Will there be a winner, or will we be heading to a replay?
HALF TIME: Southampton 0-0 Tottenham
An entertaining first half, but no goals as yet.
Lloris saves from Ward-Prowse
James Ward-Prowse has a go from the free-kick, but his effort is straight at Hugo Lloris.
Obafemi fouled just outside the area...
A chance here for Saints, as Michael Obafemi is tripped by Son 25 yards out. It's well to the right of centre, so might not be an easy shooting opportunity, but we'll see...
Armstrong down injured
Stuart Armstrong is requiring treatment on what appears to be a knee injury, and is now leaving the pitch very slowly. A change coming.
Great defending, Jan Bednarek! 👏
Spurs launch a hugely dangerous three-on-two counter, led by Son, but Jan Bednarek marshalls him wonderfully then steps in to make the tackle and win the ball. Outstanding!
So close from Ings!
A quick free-kick from James Ward-Prowse and Danny Ings chests past Hugo Lloris, before hooking a volley goalwards, but he's denied by Japhet Tanganga who flies back to make a spectacular headed clearance to stop the ball going in.
WHAT A SAVE!
Spurs launch a counter, as Dele Alli plays in Lucas Moura, but he's denied by Angus Gunn one-on-one, as the Saints keeper deflects the ball wide with his left boot! A brilliant stop!
Spurs denied by offside flag
Totteham have the ball in the net, as Dele Alli backheels to Giovani Lo Celso just inside the area. He rolls the ball past Angus Gunn, but it takes a slight nick off Son, who is in an offside position on the way through, and the flag goes up. A quick VAR check then confirms the decision.
Got enough people marking you, Redders? 😅
Nathan Redmond causing trouble in the Spurs area!
Obafemi low cross just out of reach
This is a really good spell from Saints now. Stuart Armstrong holds onto the ball superbly under pressure 30 yards out and finds Michael Obafemi on the right corner of the area. His low ball is a good one, but just out of the reach of a sliding Danny Ings, as a relieved Hugo Lloris collects.
Stephens nearly connects with Ings
Jack Stephens, who has a great eye for a pass, nearly produces another beautiful one, as he chips a ball over the top for Danny Ings, but Hugo Lloris gets there just before the Saints striker can reach it.
Ward-Prowse's delivery eludes everyone
A lovely delivery from the corner by James Ward-Prowse, but it somehow eludes everyone and Spurs clear to safety.
Bednarek tries his luck
Saints beginning to press now, and Jan Bednarek sees his effort from distance deflected behind for another Saints corner.
Better from Saints!
A nice bit of play, as Michael Obafemi backheels to Nathan Redmond in the area. He dances across and past a few players, before finding Kevin Danso. His shot is blocked behind for a corner.
Son's effort goes just wide...
Just how close was that effort from Son? Well, this picture tells the story!
Son misses a golden opportunity
What a chance for Spurs! A slick move ends with Dele Alli playing in Son, who shoots from the corner of the six-yard box, but he drags his left-footed effort wide of the far post. Should be 1-0 to Spurs, but thankfully the scores remain level!
Bednarek escapes a yellow
Jan Bednarek brings down Giovani Lo Celso with a tackle from behind, inside the Spurs half. Fortunately, referee Peter Bankes is generous and lets him away without a caution.
Both sets of fans in great voice
It's been quiet on the pitch in the opening minutes, but not in the stands, with each set of supporters making themselves heard. A great atmosphere at St Mary's!
