Charlie Austin (87’) | 0 – 1
Could this man be the hero? He's had one chance already, as Saints continue to commit bodies forward in search of a winner!
Gallagher's work rate wins the ball from Button, who dwelled on it in his own area. Squares to Austin, having just entered the pitch, but the striker's effort is turned off the line. Couldn't have come closer!
Chances at both ends. Gallagher goes close for Saints, before Brighton break and threaten Gunn's goal. Still no breakthrough, as we prepare to welcome Charlie Austin and Nathan Redmond.
Break in play...
Bednarek is down receiving treatment. Looks to be okay as he re-enters the pitch.
First chance for Gallagher
The substitute pulls off the back of his defender and latches onto an inviting whipped delivery from Davis. Gallagher dives to put his head on the pass, but is under pressure and turns the ball a yard wide.
Suttner tests Gunn
The Saints stopper stands up to the challenge, after a period of pressure for the hosts. Resulting corner is cleared.
Ward-Prowse delivers from the left, after Matt Targett was pulled down. The Seagulls stopper punches clear, as Saints continue to ask questions of Brighton's resilience.

The first caution of the night goes to Brighton's all action midfielder.

Elyounoussi's earlier chance. The wideman looks lively down the right side of Saints' attacking quartet.
Armstrong shoots wide
The midfielder did well to pinch the ball high up the pitch, before driving forward and unleashing a low shot. The ball ended up marginally wide of the post.

The wideman again hits a shot from distance. Gunn looked to have it covered as it sailed over the crossbar.
