The ball pops inside to Xherdan Shaqiri and the Swiss winger strikes from the edge of the area, but it flies well over Fraser Forster's crossbar.

Maya Yoshida has put in an absolutely superb last-ditch tackle to deny Peter Crouch, who was through on goal, and both are now down receiving treatment.

James Ward-Prowse's free-kick finds Jack Stephens at the far post who slices his effort before Ryan Bertrand then rifles wide from the edge of the area.

Saints are looking the better of the two sides here. Charlie Austin has had another early sniff at the near post and Ryan Bertrand has seen a second dangerous cross cleared by the Stoke defence.
