2022/23 Third Kit

Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce that its official 2022/23 Third Kit is now available to buy online and in-store from today.

Created in partnership with hummel, the new Southampton FC third kit has been designed, taking inspiration from Southampton’s rich aviation history and its connections to the RAF. The dark green and black shirt features a subtle detail design, taking reference from propellor blades.

Launched under the campaign, Bold is Brave, the club is celebrating bravery both on and off the pitch. The shirt features four stripes on either side of the shirt, in yellow, white, red and blue, taking inspiration from the RAF Roundel.

The kit is matched with dark green shorts and green and black socks. The socks also feature the four stripes inspired by the RAF Roundel.

Bold is Brave

Launched under the campaign, Bold is Brave, the club is celebrating bravery both on and off the pitch. Taking inspiration from the single bold red stripe, the club hopes to inspire its fans to be brave, whatever their challenge is.

Inspired by the 80's

The new shirt draws inspiration from those worn by the flamboyant and free-flowing Saints side of the early 80’s. Reversing the colours of the shirt first worn by trailblazers like Kevin Keegan, Alan Ball and Charlie George, the striking central red stripe and central badge mark a brave new direction for the club.

A touch of St Mary's

Further subtle detail is reflected in the contemporary geometric pattern taken from the iconic stanchions of St Mary’s, and the central badge stands this kit apart from previous seasons.

hummel heritage

The sleeves are complemented with two chevrons, taken from hummel’s iconic design trademark, and have been inspired by their retro kits. The inside neckline also features the hummel logo.

2022/23 AWAY KIT

Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce that its official 22/23 Away Kit is now available to buy online and in-store from today.

This season’s away shirt is the club’s boldest yet. Created in partnership with hummel, the new Southampton FC away kit has been designed taking inspiration from the docks and the club’s proximity to The Solent. The design is as eye-catching and unpredictable as the swirling south coast seas that inspired it.

With its bold teal, aqua and gold wave design the club hopes to inspire its fans to be brave and make a statement – just as its players seek to be brave on the pitch.
The kit is matched with teal and aqua shorts and teal and aqua socks.

Both are complete with two of hummel’s iconic chevrons in gold, taking inspiration from hummel’s retro kits.

Bold is brave episode 1: The rise of Rainbow saints

Bravery forms a core part of who we are, wanting to always push the boundaries, challenge the convention and continuously innovate.

With this season's bold kit, we are celebrating bravery both on and off the pitch.

In the first of three episodes and as part of Pride Month, Oriol Romeu and Laura Rafferty sit down with Rainbow Saints supporters Max Lindsay and Emma Townley to discuss the stigma and solidarity they have experienced as LGBTQ+ football fans.

Bold is brave episode 2: Junior saints face their fears

To celebrate the launch of our fearless new 22/23 kit, we've been exploring some of our boldest and bravest Saints fan stories for our new docuseries.

In our second episode, we're taking young Saints fans Bobby and Leo Morris out of their comfort zone to face their fear of rollercoasters at Paultons Park.

But they won't be alone. As a special surprise, we arranged for Nathan Tella and Will Smallbone to quite literally come along for the ride. Watch how they conquered Farmyard Flyer, Storm Chaser and Flight of the Pterosaur as a team before Nathan and Will stepped up to take on the swinging, spinning, 25-metre-high Cyclonator.

Bold is brave episode 3: Helping Dannon find his voice

To celebrate the launch of our fearless new 22/23 kit, we’ve been exploring some of the boldest and bravest Saints fan stories for our new docuseries.

In our third and final episode, we discover what bravery means to passionate junior Saints fan, Dannon, who was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder called selective mutism at the age of just 4 years old.

Something Dannon believes makes every day a test of his courage:

“Bravery is doing something you’re scared to do and not giving up. I am brave every day because I have selective mutism and sometimes the words just don’t come out.”

In the episode, we also hear from Dannon’s mum Sarah as well as from Laura Rushworth, a Selective Mutism Therapist at Confident Children.

Believed to affect around 1 in 140 young children, selective mutism is a fear or phobia of talking in certain situations where the expectation to talk can trigger a freeze response in the brain. Making saying anything at all an impossibility.

Watch what happened when Dannon got the chance to bravely walk out on the hallowed St Mary’s turf for a kick-about with first team players Jack Stephens, Adam Armstrong and Lyanco.
