A long trip for Southampton FC Women awaits as they take on Durham in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
Durham vs Saints
Barclays Women’s Championship
Maiden Castle Sports Centre
Sunday 22nd January
Southampton FC Women will look to bounce back from a frustrating 1-0 defeat against Lewes at St Mary’s as they make the long trip to Durham Women.
This’ll be the first time the two sides meet after Durham’s trip to the south coast was postponed following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Like Saints, Durham had a losing start to 2023 as they played out a five-goal thriller, with Sunderland taking all three points courtesy of a Katy Watson goal in the 88th minute.
With Saints having dropped to fifth after their unbeaten run came to an end, they’ll be looking to secure points up North to cement their place in sight of the top spots.

Despite the long trip away, Saints will be in their white and red home kit, with Durham in their characteristic blue.
Tickets are still available to purchase via Durham Women's website, with prices ranging between £3 and £7.
“We’ve prepared for Durham before without facing them due to unforeseen circumstances, and know that they’re a strong, physical team.
“Despite our result against Lewes, there were positives to take in the chances we created, and we’ve looked at where we need to improve to make those chances count.
“It’s a long trip to Durham but we’ll use that time together as a squad and put out a performance that those travelling fans can be proud of.”
