Women's duo nominated for April awards
Southampton FC Women's Jess Simpson and Aimee Palmer have been shortlisted for the Barclays Women's Super League 2's April Player and Goal of the Month awards.
It's the second time that this duo have been up for an individual award in the same month, after they were both included in January's Goal of the Month shortlist.
For flying loanee left-back Jess Simpson, this is her third monthly nomination of the season as she scored two goals in two games across April to increase her tally to six WSL2 goals and seven in all competitions this season.
Meanwhile, Aimee Palmer has earned her second Goal of the Month nomination of the campaign for her impressive free-kick against Sheffield United at the start of the month.
Her third goal of the season came in style during a 5-2 triumph over the Blades, as Palmer picked out the top corner to score Saints' fourth of the game.
Voting for both awards will end on Monday 4th May at 10am,with the winners announcedon Wednesday 6th May.
