Women earn four Goal of the Month nominations
Southampton FC Women have received four nominations for the Barclays Women's Championship's September Goal of the Month award.
In their solid start to the 2024/25 season, Remi Allen's side have scored six times in their opening four matches with four of those strikes up for the season's monthly award.
On the opening day of the season, Aimee Palmer kicked things off with a fine free-kick against Bristol City in a 1-1 draw.
Then, Saints travelled to Sunderland and scored two incredible, long-range goals on the way to a 3-0 victory; Rianna Dean and Molly Pike were the scorers with the impressive lobs from distance.
The fourth nomination comes from the 2-0 win over Sheffield United, when Freya Gregory rifled in a half-volley to open her account for the season at St Mary's Stadium.
Voting will end on Friday 11th October at 10am, with the official announcement set for 12pm on Tuesday 15th October.
The rest of the September shortlist consists of Beth Hepple (Durham) and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah (London City Lionesses).
