Tonda Eckert confirmed "a muscle injury" is set to hand full-back Welington a spell on the sidelines, starting with Saturday's visit of Charlton Athletic.

The Brazilian was replaced with 15 minutes to go of Saints' last league outing at Leicester, forcing him out of the squad which defeated the Foxes in the FA Cup fourth round last Saturday.

"[Welington] is going to take a couple more weeks," confirmed Eckert. "It's a muscle injury, so not the best but hopefully not too long."

There was a doubt over Jack Stephen's fitness, but the manager had more positive news on his captain: "Jack's scan came out fine, so he will be involved tomorrow."

Elsewhere youngster Jay Robinson will also miss Saturday's clash, the Head Coach adding: "Jay struggled a bit with his quad, so he'll be out for tomorrow and we need to manage him over the next week. Hopefully we get him back quickly. The rest looks good."

Don't miss Saturday's home game against Charlton (3pm GMT), with Saints looking to continue their winning run as Nathan Jones returns to St Mary's. Tickets start from £25 for Adults and £15 for Juniors.
