Dom Ballard's hat-trick set Southampton's youngsters on their way to a dominant 5-1 Under-18s Premier League victory at West Brom on Saturday.

After a competitive opening half an hour, Kamari Doyle opened the scoring for Saints with a low finish into the far corner.

The second only came four minutes later, Ballard with his first of the afternoon with a delightful lob over keeper Ronnie Hollingshead on 36 minutes.

120 seconds later and it was three, Ballard using his strength to shield the ball before curling an effort just out of reach of the keeper.

Doyle got his second just a minute later, cutting in from the right-hand-side before finding that far corner once again and making it 4-0 to Saints before 40 minutes had been played.

The fifth had to wait until the 67th minute, Ballard notching his hat-trick with a close range finish, before the hosts grabbed a consolation through Mackenzie Lamb with just under 15 minutes to play.

Saints are next in action on Saturday 30th October, hosting Brighton at Staplewood Campus.
