Saints’ youngsters have had an encouraging start to the 2021/22 season, claiming an opening day victory on the road at Norwich.

Kamari Doyle scored five as Saints then went on to claim an emphatic 7-2 win over Birmingham City. Fedel Ross Lang and Dom Ballard were also on the scoresheet.

West Ham have had a mixed start to their season, initially claiming an opening day 3-1 victory over Reading before falling to a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace.

Southampton currently sit second in the U18 Premier League Table, while West Ham are in seventh.

It’s been a tight contest between the two sides in their last two encounters.

In Saints’ penultimate game of the 2020/21 season, West Ham eked out a 3-2 victory despite a strong resurgence from Saints with goals from Kamari Doyle and Fedel Ross-Lang.

The points were shared when Saints hosted West Ham in March as a last gasp strike from Lewis Payne saw the home side draw level.
