There were plenty of positives to take on the first of the two outings for Saints this week, having claimed a well-earned point against Arsenal on Tuesday.

Saints took the lead after just eight minutes, Luke Pearce adding to his first goal for the B team last month with one for the younger age group.

Despite Khayon Edwards equalising Saints went ahead once more three minutes from the interval, Pearce with his second of the afternoon.

But the Gunners profited from a first 45 full of stoppages to grab their second equaliser of the game in first half added time; Omari Hutchinson slotting home.

The second half saw a well-fought contest between two evenly matched sides, with both having to settle for a point at Snows Stadium.

Spurs’ last outing came at the end of March in the FA Youth Cup, recording a 3-0 victory extra time victory over AFC Wimbledon.

Their last league fixture was at the start of the month; a 6-1 victory at London rivals Chelsea with Roshaun Mathurin scoring a hat-trick against his former club.

Three points for Saints would see them draw level on points with Leicester in 12th, whilst Spurs could leapfrog Aston Villa into fourth with a win.

Saints and Spurs last met at the end of November, with the hosts enjoying a dominant afternoon.

Dane Scarlett scored four alongside solitary efforts from Maksim Paskotsi, Alfie Devine and Romaine Mundle to seal a 7-0 win for Spurs.

Saints last hosted Spurs back in September 2019, where the visitors came away with a 2-0 victory from Staplewood Campus.

After an even opening 45, goals from Tarrelle Whittaker and Kallum Cesay sealed the three points for the visitors.
