Trialling a new post-match signing experience
At Southampton FC Women, we’re always looking for ways to improve the matchday experience for our amazing supporters.
With that in mind, we’re excited to share that we’ll be trialling a new approach to post-match player signings, starting with our upcoming fixture against Newcastle.
What’s changing?
Instead of hosting post-match signings in the Fan Zone, we’ll be trialling a more exclusive, pitchside experience, open to our Women's Team Season Ticket holders initially, to create a safer, smoother, and more enjoyable interaction between fans and players.
As part of this new process, 20 Season Ticket holders will be invited into our VIP pitchside area after the final whistle, where they’ll have the chance to meet the players and get items signed in a more relaxed and controlled environment. If this trial is successful, we will then open the trial up to all match ticket purchasers in future games.
How will it work?
Women's Team Season Ticket holders who wish to take part will be provided with a short online form to complete ahead of the Newcastle United Women's match.
From the entries received, 20 fans will be selected fairly at random.
Successful fans will be notified a couple of days before the game.
On matchday, selected supporters will be provided with a wristband, which will grant them access to the VIP pitchside area post-match. Wristbands to be collected from The Dell.
Why are we trialling this?
This new approach allows us to:
Prioritise the safety of fans and players
Manage numbers more effectively
Create a better overall fan experience, with more time and space to enjoy the moment
We know how important post-match interactions are, and this trial is all about exploring ways to make those moments even more special.
