Southampton Football Club, Saints Foundation and the Hampshire Cricket Board joined forces with a host of community partners to host a special community Iftar at St Mary's Stadium.

Now in its third consecutive year, the Iftar has become a key date in the Club’s community calendar, bringing together local residents, families, faith leaders and young people to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

The collaborative event highlighted the power of sport to unite communities, with football and cricket organisations standing side by side in support of Southampton’s diverse communities. Guests gathered at the home of the Saints to share a meal at sunset in a welcoming and inclusive environment, reflecting the shared values of respect, belonging and togetherness.

Representatives from Southampton Football Club, Saints Foundation and the Hampshire Cricket board addressed attendees, speaking about the importance of partnership working and the role sporting organisations can play in creating opportunities and strengthening community ties.

The evening was delivered alongside a range of local community groups and volunteers, whose support helped ensure the event provided a meaningful and memorable experience for all in attendance.

By hosting the Iftar for a third successive year, Southampton Football Club and its partners continue to demonstrate their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, using the reach of sport to bring people together and celebrate the rich cultural fabric of the city.
