Southampton’s Under-16s finished fourth in the NXT Cup, a post-season international youth tournament held in Belgium.

A combined squad of Under-15s and Under-16s players took part in a busy schedule over two days, where they finished fourth out of eight teams from around Europe.

In the group stages, Saints finished second in Group A, thanks to a dominant win over Dutch side FC Roda and a draw with Belgian outfit Royal Union SG, despite defeat against the host side Club NXT.

On day two Saints faced two Belgian sides, and were beaten in the semi-final by eventual winners KAA Gent, before narrowly missing out on a third place finish with defeat against Royal Antwerp.

Nick Oyekunle finished as the tournament's top scorer with seven goals across the five games played.

Elsewhere in Academy action, Saints' Under-14s travelled to Italy and featured in the Milan Futures Cup to close out their season.
