Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of striker Lewis Bailey, who joins the club's Academy after signing his first professional contract.

The 17-year-old striker arrives from Stoke City, and will initially link up with Andrew Surman's Under-18s side.

Bailey has impressed for the Potters since he joined their Academy in 2024, establishing himself as a goalscoring regular in their Under-18s side before making his Under-21s debut and featuring several times in Premier League 2.

Now making the next step of his career, Bailey said: "I feel like it's a good set up here, everyone I've met so far has been very welcoming and I can't wait to start playing.

"Southampton has a really good Academy, a really good coaching set up and I feel like this is the place for me to develop to my best.

Director of Group Talent Strategy, Andy Goldie, added "Lewis has a profile we've been keen to add to our Academy pathway, his physical stature and athleticism give him strong foundations to influence the game both offensively and without the ball.

"His development over the past two years has been impressive, and we're looking forward to building on that progress as he continues his development within our Academy at Southampton."
