Saints becomes a sponsor of the 'Light the South' Art Trail
We’re proud to announce we're now a sponsor for Southampton Hospitals Charity, ‘Light the South’ Art Trail.
Taking place this summer, 13th July to 8th September, the trail will feature 40, 8ft lighthouses and 40 mini lighthouses which have been uniquely designed and decorated by some of the UK’s most talents artists, schools and community groups.
Included in the trail, which will take you on a cultural tour of Southampton and Cowes on the Isle of Wight, will also be our very own bespoke Saints lighthouse. We've been working with local visual artist, Rick Walker, on a unique design for our lighthouse which will be found outside our club shop at St Mary’s Stadium once the trail starts.
The trail has been designed to encourage the community and visitors to explore our city and the island during the summer holidays. The event will also raise vital funds for Southampton Children's Hospital, with all 40 lighthouses being auctioned off at the end of the trail.
The trail will not only offer a brilliant visual feast for the eyes, but also a unique interactive experience through the ‘Light the South’ app, enhancing the visitor experience. Keep your eyes peeled for some surprises on there from us.
Our Director of Community, Greg Baker said: "We're delighted to support Light the South, including by bringing a Saints-themed lighthouse to St Mary's Stadium as part of the city-wide trail. We're committed to being part of and supporting our local community, and working with the brilliant Southampton Hospitals Charity is a great way to demonstrate that. We look forward to the trail launching in summer 2024, and to welcoming individuals and families to the stadium as they complete the trail."
