Loan Watch: Wright helps Worthing to play-off final
Southampton's loanees saw the end of their league campaigns in England as Ollie Wright starred in the play-offs. This and more in our latest Loan Watch...
Fresh from signing a new contract keeping him at Saints until 2026, Wright was between the sticks for Worthing in the Vanarama National League South play-offs over the weekend.
The Rebels hosted Maidstone United and won 2-1 thanks to a brace from the league's top scorer, Ollie Pearce.
At the other end it was Saints' Ollie who made some key saves to help his side advance to the final, where they will face Braintree Town for a place in the fifth tier.
Elsewhere in Non-League, Jake Vokins and Will Merry ended their spells with Eastleigh in the National League in a disappointing defeat against FC Halifax Town.
Vokins played 90 minutes, making it a clean sweep of six full-game appearances during the entirety of his loan; Merry was introduced off the bench but suffered a knock that ended his game early.
The pair have lost just twice in the six games they've been involved with The Spitfires.
Outside of England, there was promotion success for Mateusz Lis with fellow Sport Republic-owned Göztepe in the second division in Turkey.
The Polish goalkeeper kept his 20th clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği SK, helping seal a place in the Süper Lig next season.
Paul Onuachu made a return from injury in Turkey's top tier, marking his first start with a hat-trick for Trabzonspor.
He scored three, and assisted his side's other goal, in a 4-2 victory over Gaziantep FK to strengthen Trabzonspor's third place position in Europa League qualifying.
Meanwhile, in France Romain Perraud made his first appearance in three games off the bench for Nice, assisting his side's third goal with a pinpoint pass for Morgan Sanson to seal a 3-1 win over Strasbourg.
Duje Ćaleta-Car was also victorious in Ligue 1, helping Lyon to a 3-2 win over Monaco that lifted his side up to eighth in the table.
In Italy, Charly Alcaraz made another substitute appearance for Juventus whilst Lyanco ended his season in Qatar with Al-Gharafa finishing third in their league.
