£30k raised on Saints Foundation's Charity Matchday

We’re pleased to announce that this year’s Saints Foundation Charity Matchday has raised a phenomenal £30,000 to support our work in the local community, thanks to the hugely generous support of fans, our club and Sportsbet.io.

That total doesn’t yet include any money raised by auctioning Saturday’s match worn shirts, which are now live on our eBay page.

Through a wide range of fundraising including our prize draw, bucket collections, hospitality raffles and auctions, and a 50p donation from every matchday programme sold, the total at the end of our Charity Matchday stood at a fantastic £20,018. 

Furthermore, in addition to their generous gift of the front of shirt spot, Sportsbet.io, part of Yolo Group, have matched the first £10,000 of donations – placing the grand total at £30,018.

This year’s Charity Matchday spotlighted our support for mental health, with people of different ages and backgrounds coming together to share their stories of how engagement with Saints Foundation has boosted their wellbeing.

The £30,000 raised by our Charity Matchday will help across the wide range of Saints Foundation projects, including our new men’s mental health programme Saints By Your Side. Our first ever project focused specifically on supporting mental health, it’s already providing a lifeline to men in Southampton – giving them a safe space to talk and learn ways to better manage their wellbeing.

To raise this incredible total in Mental Health Awareness Month feels especially fitting and we’re hugely grateful to our city for rallying behind us.
