After coming away from Middlesbrough with a 0-0 draw in the play-off semi-final first leg, Tonda Eckert is relishing the prospect of a sold-out St Mary’s in the deciding tie on Tuesday night.

Saints survived a Boro onslaught in the first half on Saturday afternoon, rallying after the restart to go closest to winning the tie through Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Sam Edozie late on.

With a spot in the play-off final to be decided in SO14 in midweek, Saints’ boss is looking to make home advantage count after a sold-out 2,118 travelled to North Yorkshire.

“First of all, I think even our away support was excellent today, but obviously then we'll be sold out on Tuesday," he said.

"That is going to give us a big, big lift. We need to make sure that we take that last step together now, together with the supporters, and I’m very sure that we'll be there on Tuesday.

“I think it's not easy. It's a good team again. We came up with a clean sheet. We had our moments going forward, especially towards the end of the game, and we take all of those positives.

"We'll go all in on Tuesday. We'll have an amazing support at home. Then we need to make sure we do that step together.”
