A delighted Tonda Eckert praised his side's win from behind over Derby in the Sky Bet Championship as they extended their unbeaten run to 17 games.

Carlton Morris had given Derby a first half lead, but Eckert's Saints side came out firing during the second half; levelling through Leo Scienza before Taylor Harwood-Bellis completed the comeback.

It extends the club's unbeaten run to 17 games, making it six consecutive wins in all competitions for the first time since August 2014 under Ronald Koeman.

"It was an outstanding performance," said the Head Coach, "I think the best one of the week. The boys have been excellent today. I think that we were clearly on top in the first half.

"There were moments where we needed to get a couple more bodies in the box, but we controlled the first half completely. Then there was one corner and that happens in games sometimes. The boys were outstanding to come back into it again.

"I think that we've put so many balls into the box, especially first half where we need to get at least one more player on the back post. I think we adjusted this then we needed one goal to open up the game again. We pushed for that, I think we deserved that and that was clear from the beginning of the game.

"We put this game to bed tonight, tomorrow is a long day as we need to prepare for Tuesday. The boys have a day off to recover. Then it's head down, keep working, we need to stay humble with all the confidence that we have. But the big, big factor is that we always stay humble and if we take that humility going into the next game then we keep going."
