Southampton Football Club is proud to once again be supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign in conjunction with the Premier League this year.

Stonewall is the largest LGBT rights organisation in the UK and Europe. Their most high-profile achievements have been in common law and parliamentary lobbying, having successfully challenged the ban of LGBT individuals in the armed forces and recognising anti-LGBT hate crimes through the Criminal Justice Act, 2003.

Saints are joining their counterparts around the Premier League in backing the initiative, with Wednesday’s home game against Norwich City marking the club’s dedicated Rainbow Laces fixture.

In support of the LGBT community, the match will feature a Rainbow Laces pitch flag, ball plinth, handshake board and substitutes board, as well as a rainbow-coloured captain’s armband, and laces available for players and staff.

Captains will wear the rainbow-coloured armband.

We will have the Lesbian and Gay Liaison Officers (LAGLO) from Hampshire Constabulary onsite, as well as the Southampton Pride team, so don’t forget to drop by.

The campaign will be further highlighted on pitch-side LED boards and the stadium’s big screens, with support via our social media channels.

Make sure you are in your seats early for our pre-match show and look out for our stewards, who are also supporting our campaign by wearing Rainbow Laces and pin badges.
