Mohamed Elyounoussi arrived in China to join up with his Southampton teammates on Saturday and spoke of his excitement at getting down to work with them.
Saints' latest signing flew in from England to join up with the team on its training camp, with the 23-year-old now set to be with the squad for the rest of the trip to the Far East.
"I'm really excited to be here and to meet all the guys – the players and the staff – and to get going and start work," he said.
"It's been quite a long journey – not too much sleep on the plane, but I'll try to get some rest this evening and then I'm ready to start work.
"This trip will be good for the team building, for me as a new player to get to know the other players, the system, and everything around the club. It's a perfect way to come in here and see everybody and to get going."

Elyounoussi also praised the support he has received over the past week, as he has settled into his new life on the south coast.
"It's been really good," he said. "I have been taken care of really well, and I have had the chance to go out and see the city a little bit. It's been a good week, and now I am ready to train with the team."
The Moroccan-born, Norwegian international forward also praised the club's supporters for the positive messages they have been sending him since he completed his move from FC Basel.
"It means a lot, of course," he said. "I have got a lot of messages myself and I really appreciate it. I hope in the future I can give something back."
